Do I have to play professor layton and the diabolical box in-order to understand the third game?

I just finished the curious village and LOVED IT! But I bought the third game because it seemed to have an interesting plot also. But now I'm regretting it and don't want to be spoiled when I play the unwound future. I still want to play the second game but do I have to wait to play the unwound future? I don't want spoilers for the second game but.....

If they're not MAJOR spoilers I'll jump right into the unwound future.Do I have to play professor layton and the diabolical box in-order to understand the third game?
Nope, the stories are completely separate and standalone.
You can play them in any order, it won't make any difference.
Amazing games.

Edit: Completely disagree with Mr.365, the game pretty much never mentions the predecessors at all. The closest thing to a link between any of them plot wise is the mention that the Layton and Luke have adventured together before... which is hardly a big spoiler, or particularly revealing of anything that came before.Do I have to play professor layton and the diabolical box in-order to understand the third game?
Yes to understand the game you must play the games in the order they come out(which means you play the one before unwound future)Do I have to play professor layton and the diabolical box in-order to understand the third game?
