Professor Layton and the Curious Village or Diabolical Box?

I was going to buy Professor Layton and the Curious Village because it looked really fun. But now i see Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box. Which one is better? Is it better to play Curious Village before Diabolical box because it makes more sense or does it not matter? Thanks!|||While the Diabolical Box has its own main story, it's part of a trilogy with recurring characters and a sub-plot running through all three games ... so players would get slightly more out of the sequel after having already played the Curious Village (for example, one of the early cut scenes wouldn't have the same impact without knowing the back story and possibly wouldn't make as much sense)

Saying that, given that the Diabolical Box does have its own main story, you could still play it if you really didn't want to start with the first game

As both games are very similar, it's probably better to start at the start (which would be the cheaper option anyway)

You may find it useful to look over the walkthroughs (particularly to see whether you could like the types of puzzles on offer)

|||I played Curious Village and really, really, loved it. So I decided to get the Diabolical Box. So far, I would say that The Curious Village is better. I can't really explain why, it just seems to be more fun. Plus you can get an introduction to the characters and story. So my advice is get Curious Village and play through it, and if you like it as much as I think you will, then get Diabolical Box. Hope I helped!|||Umm I've just beaten Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box, although its recommended that you buy the first one, I presume that you should get Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box because it has more puzzles, more mysteries than you can shake a twig at. Its got a better plot and you get to travel to different places. You can find the plot and the ending for the first game on Wikipedia.

P. S. Best of Wishes Tony I beat the first game too, which I ironically had taken a longer time to beat than the second game. However the second game is longer. go on this site if you get stuck on a puzzle... gamefaqs.com and type in the second game for a faq that will tell you the answers to the game's hardest puzzles. I solved most without the cheat sheet.
